My First Raw Organic Cheesecake

I am going to tell you something about me ..... I am addicted to sugar
What a brave statement to make! Ever since I was a little girl I have loved all lollies and chocolate - And I'm assuming I am not alone because some unnamed organizations have very large profits all thanks to repeat purchases!
After doing the Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation for over the past year Ive been learning new ways to enjoy food in a clean and natural way. I know sugar just doesn't agree with me in more ways than one.

This weekend we celebrated my Sister In Law To Be Kitchen Tea party so I was asked to bring something along, from that moment I decided I wold make a clean treat to take with me.
So I'd had a look at a few different recipes but this week when Lorna Jane Move Nourish Believe website www.movenourishbelieve.com posted a recipe for a Lemon and Pistachio Cheesecake, I knew this was the winner - It looked fairly simple and limited ingredients perfect for this beginner.

That was until of course I was doing the groceries & getting all the bits together and the thought came - Wouldn't it be easier and same price to go to the Cheesecake Shop and get one from there?
No Lauren! - I said to myself & maybe even out loud, you will make this cheesecake!

So while my husband enjoyed his Saturday Afternoon 40 winks on the lounge I set myself to task.
Now I am no pastry chef infact I consider myself pretty poor in the dessert making category, but I found this so simple to make!
I did myself - and my Step Mother Deborah proud ( I consider her the best cook in the world I think with her eye for detail and culinary skills she would run rings around Julia Childs)
I even brought lavender and lemon to garnish!

People's opinion on the taste was gracious and kind but to be honest I really enjoyed it myself and with a lovely cup of herbal tea I made it through the Kitchen Tea Guilt Free!
The real test will be when my Husband has a try tomorrow night he's more honest than most.

Here's some pics to enjoy xxx

This Little Piggy Went To Market

The first Saturday of the month is undoubtably my most favourite of all Saturday's and that is because my local Famers Market comes to town! It's set up on the grassed area outside of Penrith City Council with so many varieties if stall holders, from Farm Fresh Eggs to Free Range Meats I'm in foodies heaven! This weekend I met up with my dear friend Amanda, to check out All The Goodies this month has to offer.

For the past 12 months I have been following Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation health and fitness program & a huge part of this program is the clean eating & healthy food choices where is the best place to get clean fresh produce? Well it's these markets that's for sure not only that but I love supporting my local community more than anything!

I  made an order earlier in the week with Lithgow Free Range Meats as I have learnt that if I don't make an order for what I want  I will miss out before 10am.
Their meat is unbelievable! I'm a sucker for a tasty steak, Rump Steak I like best & Hubby loves a tasty Sausage & these guys meet my needs a million times over the meat is like nothing you have seen before. I slice it and bag it up so that I have what I need to go for the next month then straight into the freezer.

I also picked up some Devine Sonoma Sour Dough Bread, Pukara Estate Barrel Aged Balsamic Vinegar, which I used to make a little dipping plate to take to my Sisters Birthday Party, some fresh Strawberries, Raspberries & Pears, some vegetables and one other favourite which I have as an afternoon snack or are terrific for my much loved Bush Walks from Kuranda Healthy Whole Food Snacks and Muesli, Nut & Berry Bar - totally Gluten Dairy & Soy free Low Gi sooooo good!! You can find them here

Here's a few pics from my day - Oh and By The Way; the sugar coated doughnut were fresh made from this gorgeous new local cafe Henri Marc which I had brunch at after the markets - stay tuned for my next blog on that place!
My husband Michael devoured these babies I did have a taste & the only word that comes to my mind .... HEAVEN!
